An exploration of performance…

Founded by Coach Martin Torres, the goal of EPOC Coaching is to support and elevate any trail or ultramarathon athlete in the pursuit of their endurance running goals. Whether you're training for your first trail race or you have countless ultras under your silver-buckled belt, a good athlete-coach relationship can find ways to outperform yesterday. Together we will try to answer the question: What are you truly capable of?

EPOC takes a holistic approach that includes more than just run programming. We take into account all of the elements that shape a performance. This means different things for different athletes, so our training is built around a combination of hyper-specificity and the necessary adaptability to make changes on the fly. Sometimes this might include bringing in outside experts to focus on areas beyond our expertise, but throughout the coaching relationship, athletes will have an ally that always has their best interests in mind.

 Coach Martin Torres

Martin Torres is a UESCA-certified Ultrarunning Coach and Trail Coach for adidas Runners. He is a lifelong outdoor and endurance athlete. Spending his youth backpacking and camping in the mountains of Idaho, Martin built a love of adventure and the outdoors. Martin raced both mountain bikes and road bikes through high school and college, experiencing what proper coaching and a group training environment can bring to an athlete’s progression.

After spending several years climbing and mountaineering, the goal of moving quickly through the mountains and testing one’s limits naturally lead Martin to trail and ultrarunning.

With a wide range of long distance running experience and a background of coaching athletes at all levels. Martin’s goal is to help his clients discover the full extent of their capabilities while never losing the pure joy that comes with being in nature.
